Department of Constitutional Law
The Department offers various compulsory introductory courses, fundamental for progressing in further legal studies and areas of learning taught by other departments. In addition, the Department also offers prescribed elective and optional courses contributing to the overall profile of graduate students. The primary goal is to facilitate, in an effective and complex manner, sufficient information and knowledge in constitutional law as one of the basic branches of law in the conditions of the Slovak Republic. The key topics include basic terminology in the science of state and government, constitutional theory, fundamental constitutional institutes, the fundamental principles and relations of state/central governmental authorities, and the issues concerning human rights and freedoms.
Apart from teaching, the members of the Department are involved in scientific and research activities, dealing with current issues of constitutional law and law and government, and participating in domestic and international grants and projects, and other collective and various individual publications.
