Prof. JUDr. Tomáš Strémy, Ph.D. (1981), is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Trnava University in Trnava. After completing his university studies in 2005, he studied at the Sydney College of English. He currently holds the position of Vice Dean for Development and Grant Activities and Professor at the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminalistics at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava. He is a member of the Scientific Council at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava and the Police Academy in Bratislava. He completed study and lecture stays at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg (2014, 2015), University of Scranton in Pennsylvania (USA) (2015), the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague (2011), and other institutions. He is currently a member of the Criminal Law Working Group at the Slovak Bar Association. In the past, he held the position of Vice Dean for Foreign Relations, Public Relations, Continuing Education, and Project Activities (2011-2015) and was a member of the Scientific Council at the Faculty of Law, Trnava University (2013-2016). He was also a member of the Commission on Substantive Criminal Law (from 23 November 2012 to 5 March 2014), a member of the ad hoc Commission on Prison Matters (from 9 October 2010 to 8 October 2012) and a member of the Working Group on the Law on Criminal Liability of Legal Entities (from 11 December 2012 to 5 March 2014). He led the APVV project entitled “Restorative justice and alternative sentences in the Slovak Republic”, participated in several grant projects, wrote or co-wrote several monographs, textbooks, and dozens of professional articles, and currently actively participates in scientific events at home and abroad.
