Andrea Szakacs graduated with honors from the Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Law. In 2016 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis with title "Legal Aspects of Double Taxation and Double Non - Taxation" and earned her PhD. degree in Commercial and Financial Law. During the same year she has joined the Department of Financial Law as an assistant professor and she currently serves as a Deputy Head of Department to ensure its smooth running. She completed an exchange study stay at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Law in Denmark, as well as at the University of Vienna, Institute for Financial Law in Austria. Under the leadership of JUDr. Maria Duračinská, CSc. she aprticipated in the creation of a joint bachelor study program "Economics and Law", which is provided by the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in cooperation with the Faculty of National Economy of the University of Economics in Bratislava. She is involved as a co-researcher on the APVV project, VEGA, KEGA projects and has had the opportunity to co-organize several international scientific conferences. In her scientific, research and teaching activities, she devotes herself mainly to the Tax Law with an emphasis on international aspects as well as to the Financial Consumer Protection topic. Since 2015, she has worked at the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, where she worked at the Financial Market Section, then at the Tax and Customs Section and at the same time as a member of the Appeal Committee of the Minister of Finance.
