AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION WITH THE OFFICE FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF SEIZED PROPERTY

Faculty of Law of Comenius University and the Office for the Management of Seized Property have signed an Agreement on Mutual Cooperation

On February 2, 2022, Dean of Faculty of Law CU (hereinafter referred to as "PraF UK") doc. JUDr. Eduard Burda, PhD., met with the Director of the Office for the Administration of Seized Property (hereinafter referred to as the "Office"), Mgr. Ján Kmeť, PhD. on the university grounds to sign the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation between PraF UK and the Office (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement").

The representatives of the cooperating institutions expressed their interest in cooperating and linking the practical experience of the Office's employees as experts in its field of competence with theoretical knowledge from academic ground. Both the Dean and the Director agreed on the necessity to find answers to practical questions and problems, including the engagement of an independent academic community. At the same time, both representatives confirmed the common interest and willingness to develop the orientation on values, professional ethics and education of PraF UK students, as well as the Office's employees, through cooperation. The Dean and the Director are aware of the duty of universities to create a creative, dynamic and stimulating study environment that is open to cooperation and partnership with the general public and the duty to lead students to creative, critical and independent thinking.

The above-mentioned objectives of the Agreement can be met, inter alia, by engagement of the Office's employees in the educational process within the tuition of PraF UK, as well as within training and consultations in drafting of final theses of the students. The Faculty of Law can offer the Office training and courses focused on various areas of law, as well as provide assistance in solving complex legal issues through legal analysis, thanks to a wide academic community consisting of members of 11 departments and members of 6 institutes of the Faculty of Law CU. Another advantage for students under the Agreement is the opportunity to participate in internships at the Office, in which students will gain practical skills, knowledge and will have the opportunity to see and experience the performance of the Office live.

 

In addition, the Office and PraF UK have agreed to cooperate on a variety of scientific projects and grants and in the solution of grant projects in the field of science, research and education in the scope of competence of the parties to the Agreement.
