Programme Overview

Master’s degree programme – Master in Laws is a programme offered by the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava. As one of the few Faculties of Law in the Central and Eastern Europe, it offers a complete two-year programme in English. Unlike other Faculties of Law in the region our programme is neither only certified postgraduate programme or life-long education, nor Master degree programme in the non-legal field of study e.g. legal specifics. The graduate of the programme will acquire a full Master degree in Laws that allows him to enrol to any of the professional chambers in Slovakia or to practice any of the legal professions.

The philosophy of the Master’s degree programme – Master in Law is to offer our students a broad platform on which to design their own course of study within parameters set by the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava. The Master’s degree programme pursues innovation of legal education in accordance with foreign, mainly Western European models. It was implemented as a result of the project Foreign Language Master Degree Programme "Law of European Integration and Globalization", which was co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund within the operational programme Education.

In addition to the introduction of a considerable number of new courses that have been already taught for more than three years and modernization of current teaching methods, the programme lays emphasis on gaining practical skills through clinical education and moot courts.
