On 25 – 26 June 2026, representatives of the Institute of Information Technology Law and Intellectual Property Law of the Comenius University Faculty of Law in Bratislava participated in the international conference Digital Humanism Conference 2026 – Orientation in Turbulent Times, held in Vienna. The main programme of the conference took place at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and focused on the social, legal, ethical and technological aspects of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and digital humanism.

The Institute of Information Technology Law and Intellectual Property Law was represented at the event by doc. JUDr. Jozef Andraško, PhD., Mgr. Jana Zigo, PhD., LL.M. and JUDr. Lukáš Macko, PhD. Their participation was linked to expert activities carried out within the ALTAML project and focused primarily on the exchange of knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence regulation, digital technologies and their value-based anchoring in the legal and public policy environment.

The conference programme included expert discussions and panels devoted to the governance and regulation of artificial intelligence, democratic resilience, digital sovereignty, public services, innovation, digital work, cybersecurity, as well as the relationship between digital technologies, human rights and social values. The conference provided a platform for discussion on how digital technologies can be developed and regulated in line with democratic principles, human rights, inclusion and the public interest.

Participation in the conference was relevant for the further implementation of the ALTAML project, particularly in relation to the legal, ethical and social aspects of the responsible use of artificial intelligence. The knowledge gained will be useful for the Institute’s further expert and research activities, the identification of new research topics and the development of international academic and project cooperation.
