About the Faculty

The Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava has represented more than a 90-year-long period of co-existence of jurisprudence and legal education while using innovative and creative methods the primary objective of which is to prepare its graduates for the requirements of legal practice and to create high-quality academic works which ensure the development of practical application of law.

The Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava provides university education in all three university degree programmes, in the daily as well as external form. Resolving simulated cases is gradually becoming a standard form of education; furthermore, more than forty courses are taught in English and there are also clinical legal courses intended primarily for participation in the international competitions in law and for students who want to become excellent legal practitioners in the future.

The faculty has long been co-operating with a number of institutions as well as practicing lawyers, with professional bodies, central state administration authorities or established and reputable law firms. A great majority of the Slovak law community, including a number of influential personalities, have graduated from the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava.

Apart from the high-quality theoretical grounding, we are also able to persistently adapt the study conditions to the labour market requirements primarily through the practical knowledge which the students gain during their studies.

Authors of the leading scientific commentaries on legal regulations which contribute with original scientific findings and which thus shape the legal practice are actively engaged in the work at the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava.

The Faculty is involved in a number of programmes focused on international co-operation including the Erasmus programme aimed at student mobility at more than 50 partner universities in the European Union and Turkey. We annually send dozens of students abroad.
