From 22 to 28 February 2026, Prof. JUDr. Ing. Ondrej Blažo, PhD, from the Institute of European Law at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava, undertook an academic visit to the University of Salamanca in Spain, one of the oldest universities in Europe.

During his stay, Professor Blažo contributed to teaching activities within several study programmes. As part of the Master's Programme in European Studies, he delivered lectures entitled "Values of the European Union: Written and Unwritten Rules and the Internal Market", focusing on the values of the European Union and their relationship with the functioning of the internal market. He also contributed to the Global Studies programme with a lecture on "Membership of the European Union".

The lectures provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on solidarity as a value of the European Union and as a fundamental legal principle, particularly in the light of the judgment in Commission v Malta. The sessions were met with strong engagement from students and facilitated an exchange of views on current challenges and developments in the process of European integration.

Professor Blažo also held meetings with representatives of the University of Salamanca, including the Vice-Dean for International Relations, members of the Europe Direct initiative, and researchers working in the field of European studies. The discussions focused on opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava and the University of Salamanca, particularly through joint research initiatives and potential activities within the framework of the Jean Monnet programme.

The academic visit thus contributed not only to the internationalisation of the Faculty's teaching activities but also to the development of institutional partnerships and the exploration of new opportunities for future collaboration between the two universities.
