The second annual of the Summer School of Legal Skills took place from 5th – 9th September 2016 at the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava and was organised in cooperation with ELSA Bratislava. The Summer School of Legal Skills comprised interactive workshops aimed at applying the theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

The first day of the Summer School was devoted to client communication and presentation skills. Together with their lecturer Mgr. Vladimír Kordoš, LL.M. from bnt attorneys-at law, students held a discussion about job interviews and how to be attractive for a prospective employer. Later on in the afternoon, the workshops were devoted to legal writing where Dr. Milan Hlušák gave students some useful advice in this regard. He pointed out a number of errors which lawyers tend to make in the process of drafting various legal texts using specific examples. The last activity of this day was devoted to a discussion with Dr. Peter Vačok. The second day of the Summer School of Legal Skills was, in cooperation with Wolters Kluwer, devoted to ASPI. The discussion on legal writing was held again in the afternoon and Tuesday's evening was spent in the cinema with the movie “The Verdict”.

The students were divided into smaller groups during the third day in which they participated in practical workshops on the order for payment (run by an attorney-at-law from PETERKA & PARTNERS), contract for the transfer of land (run by the law firm Hillbridges) and action (run by Dr. Ing. Matej Kačaljak, PhD.). The afternoon sessions focused on communication skills development and were run by lecturers from the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc which have long been specialising in clinical legal education. The second part of the afternoon sessions held on Wednesday was run by Dr. Peter Kubina who held discussions about constitutional complaint.

The morning Thursday's session was conducted by the lecturers from the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc again and it was again devoted to communication skills development. Dr. Michal Mrva, PhD. ran an interactive workshop focused on legal argumentation and interpretation later on. The afternoon sessions were devoted to Sports Law.

The last day of the Summer School was devoted to the Best Speaker Contest and the students were thus able to apply the communication and argumentation skills which they had acquired in order to persuade the panel of jurors which evaluated their presentations and awarded the best and most convincing performance.
