The law students visit the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant

On 4 March 2025, the seventh excursion within the concept of Law Students on Site Tours took place. The students and their teachers took a guided tour of the exposition in the Energoland at the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant. During the visit, they learned about the history and functioning of the nuclear power plant, gained an overview of nuclear waste and spent nuclear fuel management, and expanded their knowledge of the energy mix of Slovakia and other countries.
The visit to the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant itself was a unique moment of the excursion. The students had the opportunity to enter the full-scale simulator of the control room, which is used for training of the plant personnel. In addition, students had a chance to participate in a professional discussion directly with the plant staff, who presented them the practical aspects of nuclear power management and safety.
The participants gained valuable insight into the functioning of the energy sector and its interconnection with legal regulation, reaffirming the importance of the Law Students on Site Trips concept in complementing legal education in practice.
