Journée du droit 2026: French and Slovak Experiences with Administrative Justice

The Faculty of Law of Comenius University Bratislava, in cooperation with the French Embassy in Slovakia, invites you to Journée du droit – Law Day, which will take place on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, from 10:45 to 12:10 in the Courtroom of the Faculty of Law.

The theme of this year’s event is “One or two Supreme Administrative Courts: the Slovak and French experiences”. Yves Gounin of the French Council of State (Conseil d’État) and JUDr. Michal Matulník, PhD., Judge and President of a Chamber of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, will discuss French and Slovak experiences with administrative justice.

The discussion will explore the historical development of administrative justice, the powers of administrative courts and the resolution of jurisdictional disputes, the organisation of the court system, and the selection and professional training of administrative judges. The event will also include time for questions from the audience.
