The Faculty of Law of the University of Miskolc continues the legacy of its predecessor institution, whose roots date back to the 18th century in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia. The Central European Academy, established on January 1, 2022, having its registered seat in Budapest, operates as an independent legal entity affiliated with the University of Miskolc. It provides an institutional framework for fostering international scientific cooperation across Central Europe by engaging distinguished scholars, academics, and young researchers to address contemporary global challenges.
During the meeting, representatives of the Faculty of Law of Comenius University, the Central European Academy, and CEDR – the Hungarian Association for Agrarian Law – also signed a Cooperation Agreement. This agreement lays the foundation for organizing the JAEL 2025 scientific conference, which will be held as part of the APVV project No. APVV-23-0645, titled “Optimization of the Sanction Mechanism in the Field of Environmental Protection and Enhancement of Its Effectiveness.” The project is led by Assoc. Prof. JUDr. Radovan Blažek, PhD.
The signing ceremony and the working lunch were attended by faculty representatives, including Vice-Dean Prof. JUDr. Lívia Trellová, PhD., Vice-Dean JUDr. Lukáš Turay, PhD., and JUDr. Matúš Michalovič, PhD.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in enhancing cross-border academic cooperation and promoting excellence in legal research and education within the Central European region.
