2nd Edition of the BIP AI & Law at Faculty of Informatics, University of Basque Country, Spain
April 20 – 24 2026, University of the Basque Country
From 20 to 24 April 2026, Marek Kordík, Matúš Mesarčík, Petra Dražová, and Lucia Rybanová participated in the on-site part of the second edition of the BIP AI & Law programme, held at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of the Basque Country in Spain. The programme brought together more than 50 students from universities within the ENLIGHT alliance with diverse academic backgrounds – particularly in technical, legal, and philosophical fields. Throughout the week, participants worked collaboratively on the analysis of artificial intelligence systems and their societal, legal, and ethical implications.
The second edition of the programme was particularly distinguished by the participation of several guest speakers from various European Union Member States. The programme featured daily workshops, expert presentations, and concluding panel discussions focusing on topics such as innovation, technological sovereignty, and the regulation and control of artificial intelligence. Participation in the programme represented a valuable opportunity for international academic cooperation, exchange of knowledge, and interdisciplinary discussion on current challenges related to the development and use of artificial intelligence.
