Legislative Commission

The Legislative Commission was established by AS FoL CU on the basis of a resolution No. 7/I/2013 dated 26 June 2023 as its advisory and initiative body. The commission is comprised of seven members from within the academic community of the Faculty of Law at Comenius University where four of these members are represented by the academic staff and three of them are represented by students. The chairman of the Legislative Commission and other six members are elected by the Academic Senate in a ballot.

The Commission in particular

a. presents its opinions on proposals of the faculty's internal regulations debated by the Academic Senate;

b. drafts proposals of the faculty's internal regulation debated by the Academic Senate;

c. drafts proposals of the Academic Senate's resolutions which require more complex preparation;

d. presents its opinions on proposals of more complex resolutions of the Academic Senate;

e. undertakes other activities concerning the legislative and legal matters upon request of the Academic Senate or its chairman and vice chairmen;

The Commission presents reports on its activities to the Academic Senate and its chairman and vice chairmen at least once a year and always when being requested to do so by the Academic Senate or its chairman and vice chairmen.

The Commission may on its own initiative present to the chairman and vice chairmen of the Academic Senate and to the Academic Senate itself recommendations and proposals for improvement of the faculty's legislation.
