Project description:
The aim of the project is to improve the teaching of EU procedural and constitutional law in a comprehensive mode in all undergraduate study programmes at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University and to support research in the field of national application of European law. The project aims to promote innovation and the introduction of new specialised courses through which graduates will gain a deeper awareness, knowledge and skills necessary to work properly with EU law and its application in their future practice. The project responds to the demands of legal practice (advocacy, courts), which calls for a greater focus on the basic procedural institutes and principles of the application of EU law in everyday practice.
Three new courses have been introduced within the project implementation, namely:
- Aplikácia práva EÚ v slovenskej právnej praxi
- Konania pred Súdnym dvorom Európskej únie
- Teória a metódy aplikácie a implementácie práva EÚ
The implementation of the module further enriched the teaching of EU law at the faculty by introducing a specialised supplementary course focused on the practice (training) of litigation before the CJEU, which was part of the moot court activities.
The project also promoted special themes for bachelor and master theses focusing on problems of implementation and application of EU law.
