Stanislav Mihálik is a graduate of Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Law, he completed his Master's degree in 2017, and the degree of philosophiae doctor (PhD.) was awarded to him in the field of criminal law in 2020 after successfully defending his dissertation thesis on the topic "Causation in law with an emphasis on criminal law and criminology". Since 2020 he has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminalistics, where he also holds the position of deputy head of the department from February 2022.
In his teaching activities, he is primarily engaged in teaching substantive criminal law, at the same time he participates in teaching and coordinating the applied subject of Applied Criminal Law, Financial Law, and Economic Law. Within the framework of scientific and research activities, he deals with a wide range of issues related to substantive criminal law (especially focusing on the features of constituent elements of a criminal offence and the application problems associated with it), as well as selected issues of criminal procedural law. In recent years, he has been a member of the authors' teams of several commentaries on legislation in renowned publishing houses (the Criminal Law, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Criminal Records Act). He is also involved in the solution and administration of several grant tasks at the national level.
Since 1 November 2024, he has been the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Comenius University, Faculty of Law for students.
