JUDr. Lukáš Turay, PhD. is a graduate of the Faculty of Law, Comenius University in Bratislava. During his studies he completed an internship at the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic, the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, and the Bratislava I District Prosecutor's Office. Even as a student, he published several articles in the field of criminal law and actively participated in scientific conferences in the Slovak Republic and abroad. Currently, he is an assistant professor at the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law, Comenius University. From April 2019, he worked at the General Directorate of the Corps of Prison and Court Guard in the Department of Pre-trial Detention and Prison Sentence Execution. In 2020 he defended his rigorous thesis on Quo Vadis Criminal Policy? In 2021 he successfully defended his dissertation thesis entitled White Collar Criminality. He focuses on substantive criminal law and criminology in his professional and scientific activities. He is the author or co-author of several scientific and professional studies and articles. He was the co-researcher of several grants: APVV-19-0102 Efficiency of Pre-trial Proceedings - Research, Evaluation, Criteria, and Influence of Legislative Changes, VEGA No. 1/0791/20- Principles of Substantive Criminal Law in the Vortex of Time - 15 Years since the Recodification of the Criminal Codes.
