Artificial Intelligence and the Efficiency of Local Self-Government VEGA

About the project

Artificial Intelligence and the Efficiency of Local Self-Government

Responsible solver: prof. JUDr. Lívia Trellová, PhD.

Implementation: 2022 - 2024

The project explores the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in decision-making processes within local self-government at the level of municipalities, towns, and higher territorial units, drawing on knowledge from countries such as the Netherlands and Finland. It employs empirical research (semi-structured interviews, surveys, case studies), doctrinal research, comparative legal analysis, and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of law, economics, and technology. The project is linked to the European Partnership Social Transformation and Resilience (CVTI SR) and Erasmus+ ARISE (101237728). The outcomes will include articles published in prestigious databases such as WoS, but the key deliverable will be a methodology for implementing AI in local governance, with an emphasis on legal certainty, efficiency, and ethics. The project addresses a highly topical issue that currently lacks sufficient methodological and legislative support in Slovakia and will contribute to creating a professional foundation for its further development.
